Lift Like a Girl

On a busy, noisy high-traffic street corner in Alexandria, Egypt, a seemingly vacant corner lot surrounded by chain link fencing is a training site for female weightlifters. Old Captain Ramadan believes in his girls, including his own daughters. His tough love makes them champions. 14-year-old Zebiba is his next great hope. A fascinating film about female empowerment in every sense of the term.
